STYLis?

im very pleased to announce that i'll be starting a new feature on my blog called STYLis? the actual word STYLis? is a play-on words. it comes from (obviously) style and is, when you say them together it kinda sounds like stylist and i am a stylist lol so i thought it would be a cool way of asking the question what is style? by combing the two and you get STYLis? style for me, has never been something ive tried to define or label. ive always given so much respect to anyone who allows themselves the freedom to express their mood, feelings, or personality through their wardrobe. i don't belive you have to dress to impress anybody but yourself. when it comes to fashion you are your worst critic. the fun in fashion and getting dressed comes from the experimentation, the freedom. you have the freedom to create whatever image of yourself you want to portray. so what is "style"? style is whatever you decide it to be. there is no right or wrong way to do anything and no rules to follow. i appreciate self expression in whatever form it takes, hair, clothes, makeup, its all just dress-up! the lines of fashion are becoming blurred, much like today's music. nobody is expected or required to fit into one specific category. if you wanna be girly and glamorous one day, avant grade and edgy the next or androgynous and chic, you have the freedom to do just that. fashion gets me so excited and style is what i love most in life. the new STYLis? feature will basically showcase different celebrities and their personal style. i will not be "judging" or "labeling" their style but i will be commentating and observing. its fascinating to me to see what certain people love versus others. for instance, one celeb might be obsessed with a certain bag, or constantly wear the same pair of earrings or synch in every shit at the waist with the same exact belt! maybe this stems from a deeper issue of just being full-on nosey but to me, its interesting. i hope you all enjoy this feature as much as i have enjoyed creating it and i hope you all respect everyones individual style and their freedom to express themselves however they damn well please. my biggest hope would be, if from this feature focussed on personal style, everyone could takeaway a better understanding that nobody has the right to judge anybody else for wearing something that they feel confident in. no one person is better equipped to critique another persons fashion choices if that person loves what they're wearing. period
